Just about to jump into the Porsche world after many years waiting (kids. college. etc).
Thinking of a Boxter, seems more comfortable. Friend says they are "chick" cars!
Any thoughts?

I drive a Boxster everyday, and know a few other men that do as well, and would disagree with your friend. :D From my experience, it's a great car.

I have heard the comment too (Boxster=Chick car) just like I have heard people say that the only true Porsche is air cooled with the engine in the back.

The reality is, go drive one and if you enjoy the fabulous German engineering that Porsche has designed into the Boxster, buy it and have fun. I know numerous men and a few women that have Boxsters and they all love them. Personally if I was in the market for a drop top, I would get a Boxster S. I want a hard top for track use so my next car is a Cayman S.

If you buy one, come out to Blue Ridge Boxster Summit next year with us and have a blast driving the Blue Ridge Mountains.

What does your friend say about Miatas or is he a Honda Accord/Minivan person.

BTW, Here are a couple of web sites that will tell you more about Boxsters than you will ever need to know.

Oh, and I was not knocking Accords or Minivans as they serve a purpose but I just feel that they are rather boring.
