Another FYI for the "track junkies":
Lotus Cars, USA conducts a High Performance Driving School at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch just outside of Las Vegas NV at Pahrump Nevada. The 2-Day is very inexpensive at $1845, which includes 2 nights lodging. During the Summer months, the course price is discounted another $300 to $1545!! That is as cheap as it gets for two full days of track time. They also have other programs on site at Spring Mountain...Corvette, Radical Racing, and SCCA license programs. The Lotus program is too inexpensive for me to pass by....even if I don't own or drive one. (see the information and links below)

Yesterday, I signed up for the 2-Day Level 2 Corvette High Performance Advanced Driving School at Spring Mountain...scheduled later this month. This course will use the new (C6) Z06 (505 hp) Corvette for the student school cars. They also have a couple of Callaway Vettes on site for us to test on the track. The Level 2 course is designed for licensed/experienced road racers or graduates of their Spring Mountain 3-Day Level 1 Corvette High Performance Driving School. This course should be a good "tune up" for me...for the racing season ahead. Check out the link

I just got back from Spring Mountain...and I really had a great time out there. The track is a very technical 2.2 mile, 10 turn design which will challenge any racer. I also had almost exclusive use of the Callaway (see the specs in the link below) for my track sessions...only to switch back to the "under powered" 505 hp C6 Z06 on occasion. I highly recommend this facility...even if the cars are not Porsches...
