The Carrera Classic, our bi-annual driver education event, is a great opportunity to learn and practice the techniques of high performance driving on the 1.6 mile road course at Gateway International Speedway.
Additionally, if you are not quite ready to drive in the event, but would like to learn the fundamentals and feel of high speed driving, we will again offer the “High Performance Experience”. HPE students will attend classroom education sessions and ride on the track with an instructor. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
Back by very popular demand, the lunchtime charity laps will be held each day. For a donation of $20 to the event’s designated charity anyone with a valid driver’s license may drive around the road course at moderate speeds. Sign up will be at the track.
Note to all visitors: You must have the minor waiver form complete if you plan to visit Gateway International with a person less than 18 years of age. The minor will not be allowed to enter the track without a signature from the parents or guardians.
Tech Inspections
Your car must be inspected by a qualified technician no more than 30 days prior to the event. A safety inspection is required for all participants. No vehicles will be inspected at the track – you must have this done beforehand. All vehicles must be certified by a qualified technician and meet specific safety requirements outlined by the St. Louis Porsche Club. Exact technical requirements are detailed on the event tech inspection forms available below. Random inspections will be made at the track to insure the vehicles conform to safety regulations. Vehicles failing inspections at the track will be disqualified from participation without any refund.
Free Tech Inspections:
1. A free tech inspection will be provided by PCA sponsors.
Important Note: Your car should be mechanically in track prepared form at the time of inspection, including fresh brake fluid. If you intend to use track brake pads and/or tires but they are not installed at the time of inspection, they will be subject to inspection at the track.
